Jaimie on Teewinot, Grand Teton National Park

Teewinot is the sixth highest peak in the park, at 12,325 feet.  The climb includes a class 4 scramble to the top.

Flowers from two weekends ago

I really had a fun time photographing flowers the other weekend.  Posted on my Web are 40 images.  Some of these flowers are really pretty.  You can see them all here:

If you don't have time to check out the link, below are four that I picked out as favorite.

The Tetons: Same angle of view?

After posting Jaimie's picture (her bike with the Tetons in the background) I went to my pictures from 2007.  Below is my picture of the famous Moulton Barn.  Notice the mountains seem to have the same perspective.  The composition is different with my camera picking up more mountains to the left of the Grand Teton and her camera picking up more to the right.

Jaimie figures she was about 10 miles closer than I was.

Canadian Rockies: Trip status report and picture from day #1

Since returning from Canada I have been going through my pictures, trying to weed out the bad ones and select the best ones, plus add a bit of photoshop editing (like cropping and improving colors).  I took way to many pictures!

My goal is to prepare at least 14 blog posts (one or more post for each day of the trip) to run on consecutive days on my photography blog.  I will let you know when those posts are ready to be published.  My plan will be to have a map for each day showing where we were and where we went.  There will be some text based on the notes Laurie took while we traveled, and I will add a few pictures to each post to tell the story for that day.

In the meantime, I thought I'd post here one picture per day, one day at a time, starting with day #1 below:

Blueberries and Blackberries

We seem to have a bumper crop this year.  These were picked in a few minutes from the tall bush blueberries at the entrance to our driveway and from several patches of wild blackberries at the edge of the lawn.

So far I've made muffins and Laurie has made a mixed berry pie!

Blueberry pancakes this weekend sounds like a good idea, too.

Fishing yesterday

On Tuesday a bunch of us went up to the Washington Valley area to do some flyfishing.  The three images of me were taken by my friend Jim Eno.  (No, I had no idea that the visor of my hat was folded up in dork fashion in one of the pictures *grin*.)

Happy 4th of July!!
